Malinee (Malin) Noreen
Instructor
Mailinee is a full time, dedicated, career professional ballroom dance instructor. She is a member of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance, certified Highly Commended in American Smooth, International Standard and Latin. She has competed in open professional competition and hopes to continue her competition career as she relocates from Ohio to Virginia.
Malinee started teaching dance in 2002 while a member of the Ballroom Dance Team at the University of Michigan.
Today Malinee brings her enthusiasm for dance and teaching to her lessons, helping students of all levels gain skill and confidence while having fun. Whether you’re looking for recreation, fitness, performance, or competition, Malin will design the perfect plan to address your personal goals
Malinee enjoys bringing her talents to the service of charitable causes. She has choreographed and performed for “Dancing with the Stars” fundraisers, benefiting “A Special Wish” and “The Kettering Police Foundation”.
Malinee has trained under top coaches, including Maria Hansen, Tony Meredith, Anna Mikhed, Emmanuel Pierre-Antoine, Ray Rivers, and Edward Simon. She has competed and placed well in all four main categories -- Standard, Latin, Smooth and Rhythm -- and continues her training for professional competition and to best serve students.

(2022) Despite having two novices with no formal dance instruction and a punk rock first dance wedding song to work with, our 7 sessions with Malin were wonderful! She was patient, clear, constructive, and incredibly flexible in how she provided instruction and coaching through the steps she had come up with for us. She was an absolute joy to work with, and made us both feel comfortable, capable, and confident despite our initial trepidation about learning a choreographed dance. Her knowledge and skills were evident in how simply and concisely she was able to diagnose and correct our form from head to toe, all the while continuing to encourage us and make the experience an enjoyable one. (2022) We worked with Malin for 5 months who choreographed, taught us, and fine tuned our perfect first dance (and a surprise second dance) for our wedding, and we couldn’t be happier. It took a lot of work, but Malin was very patient and informative the entire time. Me and my wife have no experience dancing, but you would never know that by watching our first dance thanks to the hard work of Malin. We are incredibly thankful to Elegant Dancing for helping make our first dance so beautiful and successful. My wife and I look forward to continuing with group lessons!
