Kristaps Kalva Earns Multiple Top Honors at United States Dancesport Championships

Orlando, FL - September 2025 - Representing Elegant Dancing, Kristaps Kalva delivered an exceptional performance at the 2025 United States Dancesport Championships, the nation’s most prestigious ballroom dance competition. Mr. Kalva captured Top Teacher honors in four categories, earning a total of $31,000 in prize money.

Over a single weekend, Mr. Kalva competed in more than 1,200 entries with his amateur students and also secured the Top Studio award for Elegant Dancing - an honor typically achieved by teams of five or more instructors. Accomplishing both feats single-handedly is exceedingly rare.

“These results reflect not only Kristaps’s extraordinary talent and work ethic, but also his dedication to his students and to the art of ballroom dancing,” said Chris Thompson, owner of Elegant Dancing in Fairfax. “His performance at this year’s Championships is a milestone for both him and our studio.”

Mr. Kalva’s achievements rank among the most notable individual performances in the event’s history and further establish both him and Elegant Dancing as leaders on the national dance stage.
