Luba McCutchan

Intern

"Dance is for everyone and that there is no better time to start than today!"

Luba has been dancing and performing since she was 4 years old, starting out in ballet, tap, and jazz. At 13 she was offered a spot in a local competitive dance company and specialized in the lyrical and modern styles. Luba went on to place at several regional and National competitions, as well as, earning titles and special awards for her solos.

While at Ball State University, Luba was put into a ballroom dance class with others who were auditioning for the dance program. She primarily learned to lead and fell in love with what ballroom had to offer. Shortly after, she joined the ballroom dance organization on campus and started competing in all 4 styles. During her time at Ball State, Luba made several finals, became President of the club for 2 years, and ended up as the main coach after her graduation. Coaching the team and seeing their improvement as dancers is one of her biggest accomplishments.

In 2021 Luba was looking for a new studio to call home and knew that she found it as soon as she walked through the doors of Elegant Dancing. Luba, along with her partner Zach, is a competitive amateur dancer with a focus in American Smooth.
